Internet SIG, Nov/Dec 2017, Looking It Up and Some Entertainment

First, all of those 9 emails about the meeting tomorrow were not my doing… Yahoo’s system went kinda haywire!  But on a positive note, nobody can say “oh I forgot”… at least not without getting a “yeah, right”!

To start, we have a new convert to Gmail, so I anticipate a lively Q&A.

Besides for phone numbers, we used to also use phone books to look up people’s and business’ addresses.  In the virtual world, this is accomplished for domains (the .com, .net, erc) via the Domain Name System, or DNS for short.  We had some question about a new twist on the process that just became available, so we’ll look at the basics and the twist.

And… I realiy did sign up for the free trial of YouTube TV and have used it for a bit and will demo it and share my experience.

Speaking of sharing experiences, I don’t have the resources to try out all the other (cable tv) cord-cutting options, so if you have used another and would share that experience, that would be great.

All this and news, tips, and the funnies!
