CCA visits Stampede, a world-class supercomputer

• 6400 Dell PowerEdge C8220X “Zeus” servers, each of which contains dual
8-core Intel® Xeon® E5-2680
• processors and 32 gigabytes of memory.
• More than 2 petaflops of performance using the Intel® Xeon® processors.
DIRECTIONS & PARKING: TACC’s[TX Advaced Computer Center] Main Office is
located in the Research Office Complex (ROC, Building 196) on the J.J. Pickle
Research Campus (PRC) of The University of Texas at Austin. PRC’s physical
address is 10100 Burnet Road (R8700), Austin, Texas 78758-4497. Click here
for the PRC Campus Map. The PRC is within this area:
• Loop 1 highway (also called MO-PAC) on the west
• Burnet Road on the east
• Braker Lane on the north
• Highway 183N (also called Research Blvd.; it is running southeast-
northwest at this point) on the south
Loop 1 and Highway 183 are major thoroughfares in Austin. There is an exit
for Burnet Road on Highway 183, and there is an exit for Braker Lane on Loop 1.
Note: All visitors must now enter the Pickle Campus via the Burnet Rd. entrance.
The Braker Lane entrance is for staff only.
Regarding Parking: They changed the parking procedures up at Pickle –
the guards don’t hand out visitor parking passes any more.
• Enter at the Burnet Rd entrance, and tell the guard you’re coming to
TACC. Go straight through the gates, and turn right on Road A.
• Our building is the last one on the right, before the gates to exit on
Braker Lane.
• Park in a visitors spot (under then solar panels) or a spot on the street.
• Enter the building through the central atrium (TACC is on the right, on the
first floor) and get a visitor tag from our receptionist. Then go back and put the
tag on the car.

Meeting is free of charge, non-members are eligible for a drawing for a One-Year
Club Membership. Everyone come! Invite your friends for an exciting learning
experience! Please be ready for the Presentation at 3 P.M. after the Presentation
we venture to local Restaurant for the “Pizza Sig”.
