How can we communicate to groups of people? There are a number of ways. We’ll look at several and concentrate on a couple.

There is (yet another!) new kid on the social networking block… with some interesting twists, so we’ll look into that too.

Mike will discuss some of the latest development from Google, including the new Google Chrome browser with extensions.

Joe will talk about some new Spyware that actually tries to charge you money to remove it. He will also show Malwarebytes, a program with a free version that is quickly becoming the Anti-Spyware program of choice.

We haven’t met in a while, but… “we’re back”!

Google, Yahoo, Skype and more all have “new and improved” products out. We’ll look at those and any others that come to mind.

“Remember everything” is the goal of a program I’ve been using. It’s a crossover topic in that it runs on various OS’es, mobile devices, and the web… and syncs them all too. Include clippings, photos, audio… you name it… organize it easily… and find it again when you need it.

We’ll check it all out at our new home, day, and time:

How would you take email, instant messaging, collaboration, etc. to the next level? Google’s answer is Wave and it’s in limited release, so we’ll take a look at it.

As you likely know by now, there’s a new kid in town who claims to be the “fastest gun”. Show us wha’cha got, Kid! (Maybe I should watch an old western sometime soon… over the ‘net, of course!)

Hopefully the roads will cooperate… and several of us will be full of coffee and good food by then since we’ll stop by our favorite place for grub first – at:Waterloo Ice House, 8600 Burnet Rd, Austin, TX 78757 (map) – about 9:00. Y’all come!

Seems like we had some questions on toolbars last month that we didn’t
get to, so we’ll take a look at ‘em… but not for too long since there
are plenty of other things to discuss.

Joe will have the latest news on the Wimax offerings from Clear. As you
likely know, they will offer stationary and mobile access to the
Internet – at significantly faster speeds than we’ve had available
before!

Then on to the c-c-c-changes (wonder how many of y’all remember the
song). Some of the social media sites have changes – and not everyone
is happy about ‘em! And the big G (Google… bet you guessed!) has
several changed and new offerings… enough so that there should be
something for everyone.

Yes it’s only been a week, but… it’s time for another episode of the Internet SIG!

We had plenty of discussion last time and talked about IMAP, so I still
have the toolbar discussion to cover. There have also been some other
interesting things in the news.

We touched on it, but am sure Joe will discuss more about WiMAx, the
new, fast, stationary and mobile, Internet access that will be coming to
the Austin area soon.

Joe will explain IMAP and it’s advantages over the POP3 that you’re likely used to hearing about and has some info on WiMax too.
